 Please save the date for the Māori and Healthcare Workshop, 1st September 2018

PONZ with the support of NZIMRT are pleased to be able to offer an opportunity to hear three great speakers talk about supporting equity in the health sector. The first speaker is Teresa Moahuia, she will be presenting her work on inequities in outcomes for Māori. The second speaker is Professor Diana Sarfati, she will bereviewing factors preventing Māori patients receiving definitive treatment in a timely fashion and interventions to prevent ethnic inequities in cancer outcomes. Finally Vanessa Eldridge will be reviewing the application of tikanga in the context of healthcare, what we can do in our practice to address inequity and provide solutions aiming to improve Māori health outcomes. Canterbury PONZ Forum Education Session, Monday 17 June 2013

The Canterbury PONZ Forum ran a successful education session on Monday 17 June on the topic of Sexuality and Body Image in Cancer Patients. Guest speakers included Prof Chris Atkinson, on sexuality and body image in male cancer patients, Glynis Cumming on sexuality and intimacy, Theona Ireton offering a Maori perspective, and consumer Ian Chapman. The session finished with a lively panel discussion featuring all speakers. 


PONZ Education Day 2012

PONZ ran a series of education days throughout New Zealand in September and October 2012. Education sessions were run in Palmerston North, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin on Monday 24 September, with an information evening in Hamilton. All of the day sessions showed a pre-recorded presentation by Dr Alex Mitchell on distress screening, followed by local speakers. The Auckland education day took place on 15 October.
